Our Little Boy Is Here!

Colin Lockhart Wilson entered the world on August 29, 2012 at 8:06 a.m. weighing 8 pounds 4 ounces and 21 inches long.  We're all settling in to life with this sweet boy.  Cecilia has been a great big sister, already showing signs of being very protective and helpful to Mommy and Daddy.  More to come soon :)

38 Weeks & 5 Days - We Are Ready!

The room is officially ready for our little boy!  We had great bones to work with thanks to all of Mike's hard work in preparing the nursery for Cecilia 3 years ago.  We had the wonderful furniture that the McGraws gave us that our niece and nephews used, then Cecilia and now our son :)  Mike did a great job painting and using his creativity on the walls to create an ocean scene with boats and fish.  I just did the finishing touches - updating the shades and washing clothes and making the crib - and once baby arrives, a name above his crib :)  We can't wait - in less than 2 days now we'll meet our sweet boy!

35 Weeks (and 1 day)!

Yes I am VERY pregnant!  Haha.  I haven't taken many profile shots this go round - I was pretty religious about posting a photo every 4 weeks for my pregnancy with Cecilia (see 2009 posts...).  This go round has been a little different.  I will say I am much larger!  However I have gained less with this pregnancy, but Mom had a few lbs. left from her first pregnancy so started a little higher on the scale - but I digress - I like to focus on the fact that I've gained less during this pregnancy ;)  Anyway, CC was 7 pounds 10 ounces and 21 3/4 inches long - I am fairly positive (but who knows) that this little guy is going to be BIGGER!  We will see!  We sure can't wait to meet him :)

Cecilia Turns THREE!

Our little Cecilia has turned three years old - amazing how quickly time flies!  We had a backyard birthday bash for our little fish with some of her closest friends :)  CC's favorite color was a key accent for the party of course - blue hat, blue cake, blue balloons, as much blue as we could do!  We love you sweet girl :)

32 Weeks

It's been 8 weeks since our last post, I have been so bad about keeping up with posts on CC since before her 2nd birthday last year and here we are 16 days out from her turning THREE years old - as she would tell you lately, "my birthday's coming up".  :)  One day I'll catch this blog up on all the fun that's been had over the last 12 months - for now, I'll try to keep up in the moment.  Uploading photos to the blogspot isn't as easy as it used to be either, or I'd be tempted to pop on more often PLUS KodakGallery, my beloved photo sharing site for at least the last 8 years has now merged to Shutterfly and all my albums are 'hopefully' being transferred - ah technology is so great, until we rely on it too much!
Back to fun topics - like CC and our soon-to-be little boy.  Since we found out we're having a little boy - we've been busy selecting a theme for the nursery and colors - we wound up deciding on a beachy theme - deep blue paint, madras plaid bedding, and sailboats and fish among other touches to fill the room.  Special sea shells that both families have collected over the years from all over and a beautiful painting/photograph my Dad saved for me from Hawaii of a palm tree among other special touches (we're blessed to have such a loving family) - it's all coming together so will post a photo when the room is complete.
I am scheduled for a c-section at 39 weeks on August 29th (my fabulous brother-in-law's birthday!) - so we're under 7 weeks away at this point.  We went to the beach as much as possible since May so CC could soak up the fun, now we're VA-bound until the little one arrives.  We joined a local pool so CC can keep up with her swimming adventures - she's been doing amazingly well with no lessons other than from her parents/grandparents - mainly her Daddy.  She goes underwater (over and over and over again) all by herself, she can float for 20 seconds and she fearlessly jumps into her Daddy's arms from the side of the pool - she's even getting good at swimming - both with her legs and arms while we hold her.  CC has been loving preschool full time and has made lots of new friends, in particular, Ava - she loves talking about Ava.  When I pick her up from school they hug eachother so tightly - they are two peas in a pod, it's hysterical!  I look at her and I can't believe how much time has flown by - I hold on tightly to moments now =)  That's what's been going on for the most part over the last 8 weeks and here are some photos as well.
Photos are of CC/Ava; CC at Funland; CC/Patrick; Birthday parties; CC dancing solo at the Father's Day social at preschool; annual Dollie's photo; annual CC and her grandparents/great-grandmother photo (did I say we were blessed?!); and last but not least CC at her first dentist appt. yesterday!  CC has all 20 baby teeth and was very brave at the dentist - had her teeth cleaned, flossed and flouride, even pictures taken.  Her favorite part was "Mr. Thirsty" - oddly, the part that I dislike the most!  She's growing up TOO fast!  More to come!

24 Weeks

We found out the big news a couple days after the 20 week post - WE ARE HAVING A BOY!!!  So exciting.  Cecilia embraced the news immediately, we were concerned since she kept talking about a baby sister.  She's been great - she's bought a few gifts for baby brother, she talks to baby brother and about baby brother.  I'm so excited to see her interact with him and see her as a big sister :)  Below is a photo of our little guy from the 20 week Level II Ultrasound - I chose to not post the "proof" photo, it's a bit personal.  I will say that I do think this little one has Mommy's profile :)

20 Weeks!

We are 20 weeks along today!  I can NOT believe how fast time is flying.  I keep stopping to soak up this beautiful blessing of carrying a child - each time I find the experience more religious - there is no doubt that God exists and we feel extremely blessed.

So today marks 20 weeks, this morning Mike took a photo of CC and me with baby.  This time we are going to find out the gender (this Friday!) and I am getting really excited to find out if we will have another beautiful baby girl or a sweet baby boy.  This pregnancy is different in a few ways, first, I compared my photo this morning to my last 20 week photo (March 2009 blog post) and I'm definitely bigger this time and seem to be carrying differently.  With CC I took note of every heartbeat from the 12, 16 and 20 week appts and they were all low for a girl, 140's and 150's (old wives tale, girls have faster heartbeats) - this baby has a much faster heartbeat than CC - always in the 160's at each appointment.  With CC I could eat anything (and everything) - with this baby, Mama's tummy is always messed up and I also started popping tums alot earlier (heartburn!).  With this baby, my ankles have been swollen since 19 weeks - I only remember that with CC at the end of the pregnancy.  According to the Chinese Calendar, we're having a boy (again, an old wives tale).

So we will see - any guesses?  If you ask CC, 99% of the time she says "it's a baby girl" and she proudly announces that she is a "big sister"!  So when I am asked my thoughts - I think of CC and how definitive she is in her response and it makes me wonder - she's a pretty smart cookie.  I also think of how different things seem to be this time, so it also makes me wonder if she could be wrong?  Regardless, we are blessed to be pregnant and we pray for a healthy baby :)

Cecilia is Going to be a Big Sister!

We are so excited about our news - we found out on New Year's Eve morning that we were blessed with a baby on the way.  Cecilia, Mike and I went to the 8 week sonogram with Dr. Wolf (who we are so incredibly blessed to have in our lives to deliver our second child) and saw little baby Wilson in Mommy's tummy =)  Immediately after, we called our families to share our good news.  We've been so grateful and again the word blessed is always on my mind to continue to have a healthy baby on its way.  Today I am 17 1/2 weeks along and baby's due date is September 5th (a Virgo).  Cecilia has been so sweet - she kisses my tummy multiple times a day and hugs the baby - whenever CC has a chance she tells teachers, family and friends that there is a "baby in Mommy's tummy" and kisses baby - she is also proud to announce "CC is a big sister!"  More to come...
